Episode 41: Treasure Hunt, Kevin Drumm, and Vatican Shadow

Yeah, yeah, yeah we’ve reviewed all these artists before but whatever, it’s our podcast and we’ll cry if we want to.

Treasure Hunt is back with a cracking new tape that sounds like nothing he’s done before. We review an older Kevin Drumm CDr, the epic and weird Earrach. And Vatican Shadow reclaims his mojo on Death is Unity with God.

Episode 35: Consumer Electronics, Kreng, and Kevin Drumm

We’ve been a bit slack but we’re back. This time ’round we’re dissecting a punishing new-ish record from Consumer Electronics, an underwhelming avant-classical work by Kreng, and the might minimal Trouble by Kevin Drumm.

Episode 34: Neel, Powell, and Kevin Drumm & Jason Lescalleet

We get confused about who Neel actually is (although we both loved the record). We put our dancing shoes on for Powell, and then attempt to describe an epic collaboration between Kevin Drumm and Jason Lescalleet. Enjoy!

Episode 32: Andy Stott, Burial Hex, and Kevin Drumm

….And you thought it would be months before we put out another episode! This time around we talk about Andy Stott’s ‘Faith in Strangers’ before Dave confesses to a love of cheesy Goth music while discussing the new Burial Hex record. We finish off by purring over Kevin Drumm’s latest master piece ‘Wrong Intersection’.

Episode 25: Kevin Drumm, Glottalstop and Mike Shiflet

Yo! We’ve had lots of emails and tweets and comments and stuff from listeners recently, which we love. So keep ’em coming. tell us what you dig and what you don’t.

On episode 25 we talk about a recent drone work from the mighty Kevin Drumm, as well as an amazing record from act known as Glottastop. Last but not least we gush over a new tape of seriously blackened but beautiful drone/noise from Mike Shiflet.

Episode 14 – Kevin Drumm, Hacker Farm and Iceage Productions Compilation

Sorry for the break in transmission peeps, but life gets in the way sometimes. This episode we talk about another Kevin Drumm reissue for 2013 called Purge which David says is his favourite wall-of-noise record of all time!! Plus, the not-so-new release from England’s the Hacker Farm which somehow leads us into reminiscing about the Smashing Pumpkins (!). We take listen to some local experimental music for the first time on The Antidote, shame on us, when we chat about the third volume in Iceage Productions’ The Shape of Noise compilation which features artists based in Melbourne, Australia.

As always, listen to episode 14 here or subscribe over at iTunes.

Episode 8 – Hey Colossus, Aaron Dilloway & Kevin Drumm, Prurient

Holy sheet, it’s been six weeks since we put out an episode! Give us a break, we’re lazy Australians. This time around we take a look at the kick ass new record from Hey Colossus, out on Mie Music. Doomy, sludgey, psychedelic goodness! We also check out a re-release of Aaron Dilloway & Kevin Drumm’s monstrous 2002  collaboration I Drink your Skin. And we wrap it all up with Prurient’s latest sleazy technoid record, out on Blackest ever Black.

Episode 7 – Kevin Drumm, The Dead C, Rangda and The Glittering Hand

Not three, but four reviews this time around. OK, one of them happens to be a split record but as far as we’re concerned that means there’s a bonus review. We debate the new Dead C / Rangda split out on Bada Bing records and speculate about Kevin Drumm wanting to disturb people’s psyche on his mammoth, minimalist drone release Tannenbaum. And, we also talk about a mysterious release by The Glittering Hand.
